I'm still thankfully taking trips as fast as they're coming in. Safety measures are being taken into concern to make sure you have not only a fun and memorable day, but a safe one as well so you can share your fish stories when you get home. Give me a call!

My Man Alex is a great dude first and foremost, being out on the water was a blast especially going out with someone who absolutely knows the area, tackle and fish like the back of his own hand! Was an excellent teacher with constructive insights that improved my technique from the start of the day to when we got back to the docks! Would recommend 10 out of 10 times if you are looking for great company on the water and someone to get you on top of the monsters!

We went fly fishing for Tarpon with Captain Alex in mid April. We had a blast. Alex is a fun guy to be on the boat with and a skilled guide. We were early in the season, but he put us on some big tarpon and kept us on them all morning. He was good at positioning the boat to give us the best shot when it was possible. We got a lot of good shots, fed 10 giant tarpon well, and got some heart-stopping follows from the fish. If you know big tarpon, you know that's a good day. We weren't able to make every shot that was called for (back casts, fast moving fish, etc.). Alex was patient and kept his positive attitude going even when our skills weren't up to the challenge of a particular casting opportunity. I'd fish with him again in a heartbeat.

Capt. Alex is a blast to fish with and a great guide for anglers of all skill levels. My wife and I spent a day with Alex and he put us on plenty of fish, helped us dial in some new casting techniques as well as helped us understand the area better. Capt. Alex has this fishery and area dialed in. We look forward to getting on some tarpon with him in the spring.

Fly Fishing In Southwest Florida

Living in Cape Coral Florida affords me the opportunity to trailer my skiff to multiple ramps in the area and a ton of water to fish. My "home ramp" is Matlacha Park located on Pine Island road in a sleepy little fishing village full of art and character. Depending on weather, the time of year, and the fishing you are looking to do there are multiple places we can meet to put the boat in the water in the area.
I specialize in pursuing Southwest Florida's inshore gamefish on the fly rod and super light tackle. Between the tarpon, snook, redfish, and trout that inhabit Boca Grande Pass, Matlacha Pass, Pine Island Sound, Charlotte Harbor, and the Caloosahatchee river, our fishery can keep you busy year round.

Covering these skinny waters with my Beavertail Strike has been a blast for the past couple of years. This little 17.5ft technical poling skiff can get me and two anglers just about ANYWHERE that I need to go. Between tiny tidal creeks in mangroves to the fabled Boca Grande Pass (yes...those tarpon are as big and numerous as you've read) it will get the job done so that we can focus on fishing and making some memories.

Typically we fish with the fly rod or light spinning gear using artificial lures. I prefer to be able to approach a spot and start tossing right away. That way we don't spend your valuable time chasing bait! (Trips can be tailored to individual needs. Trust me. I want you to have a blast). I will work out details with you as our day on the water approaches. Feel free to ask any questions and address any concerns you may have about our trip.

- fishing tackle (feel free to bring your own but please consult me while we plan the trip)
-USGC approved safety equipment (life jackets, flares etc.)
-WATER! You can never have too much out there

What to bring
-Camera or smart phone
-Polarized sunglasses
-Hat or visor
-Sunscreen and buff
-Rain jacket (depending on time of year)
-Food and drinks. Feel free to bring whatever drinks or snacks you prefer. I'll have cooler space cold and ready to roll for you. It's easy to get famished on the flats.
-Positive attitude. I have yet to meet a person that fishes better upset rather than relaxed, engaged, and enthusiastic. This fishery is tough, but know that I've done a couple days worth of planning prior to you stepping off the dock (It is your hard earned money after all. Plus, I LOVE seeing people catch fish on my boat).

PS-Captains like surprise sandwiches ;)

Half Day (4 Hours)- $400
Full Day (6 Hours)- $600
Dock Lights (night trip) $350

Feel free to contact me with any questions! Let's go fishing soon
